Happily Ever After...……….Money

Matthew 6:24            “You cannot serve both God and Money” (Mammon)

Genesis 1:27            “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number (multiply); fill the earth and subdue it. Then God said, ‘I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.”

Marriage is not just for the pleasure and procreation of mankind, it is for the purpose of representing God’s image.

God is a producer. Representing God’s image therefore means we will be first and foremost “producers”.

Producer:  someone who lives with the perspective of having enough to multiply and share/give.

In order to be effective producers God has provided necessary resources for us to consume. God has made provision for consuming. Consuming is necessary but not primary.

Consumer: Someone who lives with the perspective of need and want.

Two very important questions.

Are you producing just enough to consume all you want?

Are you consuming just enough to produce all you can?

So, there are two basic perspectives that order the way we live out our lives in marriage:

 

The Producer and the Consumer.

 

Consumer…………+ Producer…………. = Difficulty /Challenges

Consumer…………+ Consumer……….. = Debt/Disaster

Producer…………. + Producer…………. = Divine order/Increase

Your Faith Follows Your Focus.

You Are Dominated by Your Devotion.

 

So Jesus says…………………..Don’t worry

Worry is poverty

Worry is Pagan

You’re Valuable to God
